Camo's are one of the five greatest reasons why people play online so much. This is true for most people but, it's not easy to get the camo you want considering it takes head shots to unlock them. First of all, the camo's on this game are out of this world hot, if you don't know why its because you haven't unlocked them yet and have only got to the weak ones like Digital or Urban. It takes dedication to unlock these considering you can only unlock one camo for each gun and the goal to reach is so freaking high. If you feel you can't even dream to reach blue tiger camo, you've come to the right place. Head shots are ridiculously hard to get, most people only get lucky enough to pull off five in one match, and you need 75 to complete to challenge. Be warned, this will take tremendous amount of time, so if you're sill stuck on a goal like trying to get ACOG or a certain perk, finish that first, then come back.
I've gotten Red tiger on my least favorite guns, and Fall Camo on my most favorite guns including all the sniper rifles. I've got blue camo on my SMG's since they all look hot in blue like the MP5 blue camo in COD4. My Vector is the only one not in blue since I love that gun. It took weeks just to learn get to blue camo, than another to complete the task. (Minus all the sleep, work and eating, about one and a half weeks max.) Now, the first thing you need to know is that lucky head shots are really overrated. If you try with all your might to get head shots, you'll find you'll get over ten in each match. For Assault Rifles, it takes about three clean bullets to the skull for a good head shot. For SMG's, it takes four, for LMGs it takes two, and for Sniper Rifles it takes only one. When you fire at an enemy, control over where your aim lands is really random, so make a habit of rising towards the face when you fire with it. The reason why I say this is because when you fire at an opponent, two to three shots anywhere on the body and one shot to the head counts as a head shot. Just as this is true, two to one shots to the head and one on the body does NOT count as a head shot. Remember, the last shot has to be right on the noggin or it won't count as a head shot. When you actually go for these head shots, you shouldn't be really worried about your score at all, the only high score you should be looking for is the headshot count. If you are worried about your overall score, than it will take a while to actually get even the digital camo much less blue tiger. When you aim for head shots, you will find yourself getting killed more because while you're trying to kill them in a specific way, they want to kill you no matter what it takes to get that high score.
You remember when you had to get that Red dot sight for your favorite gun? You knew in order to get it you couldn't be wasting time with any other gun till its finished, well the same property applies here. You need to find the gun you are most familiar with and do that one first. You need to then pour all of your time into getting it to at least Urban camo before the real work sets in. You then need to find the set up that works well for you and gets you those head shots with no effort whatsoever. You need to also have all, if not most of the attachments for this gun or you'll find the work much more harder than anticipated. Once you have these, you are then ready to get to work.
Attachments that help here usually began with the Red dot sight, and it's like that for a reason. That dot is very small, so of course it'll dwarf in comparison to you're enemies head making it easily the most precise attachment around. The thermal scope isn't really a good choice unless you're reeeaaally far away. I'm talking about Quarry far. It than has a certain accurate sight that cant be found with most other attachments, plus with everybody as white as snow, you'll know where to shoot. The ACOG Scope used to be a bad choice in COD 4 because of that upside down V cross hair where you didn't know where the bullet would shoot. Now, it's even more precise, but it's still very inaccurate. It does have a sort of sway to it and since we can't hold our breath, its not as accurate as you would like. It's also not long range head shot friendly. The holographic sight a good choice since it scopes in more than the red dot sight, still, the ring around the red dot doesn't help for accuracy since it blocks the outside sight. The grip for the LMG's are a great way to get way more accuracy and with the AUG HBAR, it totally makes it a Headshot magnet. The suppressor, or Silencer is just like the grip for Assault Rifles the way I see it, (The stealth feature is just a bonus for me) and it also is a huge head shot magnet because the sway and kickback is hugely suppressed. The FMJ, and the Extended Mags don't really do anything for the headshot ratio in my book. With Bling, you can really make a headshot hunting gun and make sure that every kill is a headshot. For example, a Silencer or Grip and a Red dot sight can't be beat for headshots since it has no kickback, no sway, and best of all, the best accuracy ever seen. As long as you "aim" for the head, you'll tag it with every bullet you fire square on. Since the silencer does a little power reducing, you can add stopping power, but it's not necessary when aiming for the head since three to four shots to the head isn't too much.
Now that you've gotten the blue camo, the red camo is next and it's a real bi--- of a task. You'll have to do more work and the same 75 headshots just to do this task. (Haven't I done this before? You might as well give me the Red tiger camo.) Well, at least you have your blue camo to look good doing it. The same strategy applies here, you need to know when you're hitting those headshots and keep working at it to triumph. Use distance and unwary opponents to get free headshots, do not waste any opportunity they give you. Try not to use any other weapon, including grenades and claymores (Unless you're in a sweet spot with a back door) and try to kill everyone with a head shot. When you are running around, your aim should be up at least 20 degrees, and you should rise up when you shoot. One more important thing is that crouching makes a helluva better difference than when standing. If you are using a sniper rifle, than you should already have a nice Red tiger and should not be here, if you made it that far, it shouldn't take long before Fall camo is yours. Sniper rifles are easy to get camo's for since when you snipe, your enemy shouldn't even have a clue as to where you are, and therefore you have time to aim for headshots. Sniper Rifles are also very accurate making it an easy task to start with for getting camo items. Once you have Red Tiger, the last and most difficult camo is the Fall Camo. This will no doubt be the hardest of them all considering it will take the time that you used on both of them, plus more. Yes, thats right. For this one camo, you will have to get 250 headshots, but since you've already got 150, it'll just be 100 headshots, which means you'll have to get 25 more headshots. Since you have gotten this far, 100 headshots shouldn't be too hard, but it will be a nice task for you to do. A couple of new tips is that Bling, and Stopping Power can help in making this easier and camping for stragglers may may this a whole lot quicker. It's better when they don't see you so they don't have to move, cover themselves, fire back, and it's just plain easier to fire on an unwary enemy. With all of these tips and tricks you can easily take on this impossible task with more speed than just going into matches and getting lucky with headshots. I guarantee that you'll cut your original time in half with these strategies and finally have that camo you've always wanted.
